There is an expression that love is the blanket that warms the soul. But it’s not an easy quilt to sew.
As an estimated 2.2 million Canadians know first hand, marrying someone outside their culture and outside their country of residence can be a daunting task and the simplest desire of being with the person you love can be a taxing and heart wrenching ordeal. JumpPoint Entertainment is proud to present the feature length documentary Life: In Waiting. An unblinking look at the lives of three Japanese women as they follow their hearts passion and come to Canada with their husbands to start a brand new life. Once they arrive, they will have to wait for their permanent residency application to go through. Until then, some will work under the table secretly and some will not work at all. For these three Japanese women, they will have to decide if they are indeed willing to give up their lives back home and endure a life in waiting and uncertainty to pursuit a new one in Canada. From tears of anger to tears of joy, from moments of doubt to the simplicity of being with the person they love the most, Life: In Waiting is a documentary about the most basic of human emotions. It’s about starting over and giving it all up to live the dream. This film is currently in development |
